Description
The Finnish folk melody’s hymn tune name in this piece is called “Nyland.” It is a simple and gentle strain that Glenn Wonacott has decorated delightfully. The piano accompaniment has a Baroque feel to it as does the lovely obbligato part. Using a text by Anna Waring about God’s assuring presence at all times, the sentiment is reminiscent of Bach’s “Sheep May Safely Graze.” It is an excellent children’s anthem but would also work nicely with any 2-part voices in a worship service. Easy to medium.
